My cocoa journey began with a curiosity about the origin of cocoa and the captivating stories behind it, which gradually evolved into a quest for something more meaningful. SPICOA, founded by me, aims to intertwine origin, craft, spice, and experience, all while creating a venture with the potential to expand beyond a single product. This is just the beginning.
Before SPICOA, I was working as an accountant in a chocolate factory.
I was surrounded by chocolate, production and numbers, but I had never really stopped to think about the journey behind the cocoa.
Then, during a vacation to Idukki, I met a local cocoa farmer.
That conversation changed the way I looked at cocoa — and started a journey I never expected.

“What if there was more to cocoa than what we saw?”
That conversation stayed with me.
I began looking beyond the numbers, the production lines and the finished chocolate.
I wanted to understand what came before the product — the land, the farmer, the bean, the craft, and the stories hidden within them.
The more I discovered, the more I realised that cocoa was not simply an ingredient.
It was a world waiting to be explored.
And somewhere along that journey, curiosity became a purpose.

I didn't start with a finished business plan.
I started with an idea — to look at cocoa differently, and to build something that respected where it came from.
I wanted to bring together what had begun to matter to me: origin, craft, spice, nature and experience.
Slowly, the idea became clearer.
And eventually, it needed a name.
That name was SPICOA.

SPICOA is still taking shape. What began with a question about the origin of cocoa has transformed into a fascinating cocoa journey that explores craft, spice, nature, and experience, all influenced by the vision of the SPICOA founder.
